Sister's Wine Tavkveri Rose
Jane originally worked for many years as a political scientist before turning her attention to wine-making. She felt a pull to her cultural heritage and her community and wanted to make wines that expressed the nature of her homeland. Using indigenous grapes and wild yeasts the wine is made in Qvevri's, large 500-litre terracotta pots that are then buried into the ground to keep the wine at a consistent temperature. The wine is not touched once for 18 months which can be very nerve-wracking but this wine was worth the wait.
