Jason is a 5th generation winemaker at Bergkloster who have been making wine in Rheinhessen for over 120 years. After studying at Geisenheim, one of the world's best universities for viticulture and oenology, he worked a placement at Wittmann and then went back to the family business. The winery has been working organically since 2006 with over 7.7ha of vineyards. Producing his first vintage in 2014 and soon after realising the way to give more life and energy to his wines was to work as minimally as possible. In 2018 started working without filtering, fining and with no addition of sulphites.
